The Change

Introduction:

Your best friend disappeared weeks ago, and weeks ago you were forced to kill a beast. Coincidence? You refuse to think any differently, but you know the truth. You can feel yourself changing too, but what can you do? You know there's no way to survive alone. But if you stay here, you risk endangering everyone. So what are you going to do?

Basic Story:

The hottest newest TV Drama has just hit the scene. "The Change" is full of plots and tension, friends and foes. Everyone loves it. It follows a group of kids, none older than 18, who now live in a what seems apocalyptic world. Not one of them is sure how they got there and why. They have little to no memories of there past life.
Lead writer Michael Sanderson makes millions everyday, though few people know that he has hardly picked up a pen in his life. For The Change is unscripted.
Unaware of there vast number of viewers, the stars of the show spend everyday trying to stay alive.

Character's View:

The world has changed dramatically. In the roads lay piles of twisted metal and other debris. A few building are still intact, but provide little protection against the monster's that plague them. Weapons had to be hastily fashioned to fight them off and it worked.
But now they've got a worse problem. The children are changing. It forces them to face a horrible fact. That the monsters they had been fighting were once like them, and that one day they might become the monsters.

BTW Don't feel forced to make your change. Plus they don't need to change into monsters is you don't want them too, they can change into something that can still be controlled.

Personality: Calm, Pushy, Couragous, Independent, Tactical/Strategic.
Looks/Description: A 5 foot 6 inch girl with tan skin and medium dark curled hair. Her frame is small. She wears a helmet that she dug horns into at the top, her outfit is wearing black shorts with a tattered t-shirt, she wears no shoes as it effects her running. Can be quite calm even at fearful moments. She can run swiftly and climb heights with out fear. She would risk her life for her friends. Has bruises on her legs and arms.
Relationships (Crushes, Family...) Never knew her family, has a crush on Theodore even though he is younger, fortunately not too young.
Other: Later on when she is able to control her monster ability, she looks slightly like a wolf with black fur but has a tan marking under her eyes, and has four curled horns on her head.
Has two sharp wooden weapons that are 8 inches long, they are a bit stained with blood, she usually finds new ones after a few days. She has a little monster named Static that is friendly and helps her in battle, it can transform into a bigger monster only when it or Savana is in real danger.

Zona sat on a fallen lamp post near the edge of their crummy little 'civilization' (As Jago liked to call it). She cradled the only weapon she had managed to get her hands on, a metal pipe. Zona sighed as she looked at the landscape beyond her. How she wished she could be out there searching for a way out! But Zona was a practical person. And right now, while the others fought over the right to run everything, the practical thing was to defend the town. Even if it was only with a pipe no longer than 30cm. So Zona sat.

Unlike most, Jago was rather enjoying their new little spot of bother. He rather liked the power it provided as was determined to get hold of it. Jago felt it was his birthright, even though he couldn't remember where he was born. He hadn't done a bad job so far either. Its quite easy when the people you're trying to rule over are scared pee-less. Now he sat in the best seat of power he could come up with, the top of a mound of twisted metal and broken rubble. It gave him a vantage point over everyone who approached him. Plus he felt it was really quite an intimidating sight.

Junior looked at Jago from behind. Junior did not envy the guy nor did he long to have his position, no. He just wished another person had the job. For in his mind Jago had less brains than a walnut. He sighed and started to walk up the rubble.

Savana stood near a corner of a broken and cracked building as she watched everything around her. She was near Zona and was helping her stay watch. Her two 8 inch sharp carved wooden weapons intact as she stood there. She did not like fighting as much but, she wanted to stay with Zona just in case she needed the help. She had not done this a lot but only when she thought she might need it. Nothing was in sight as she stood there eyeing around the corner and across the street. She was silent the time she stood there.

Zona was unaware of Savana nearby. Her alert senses detected another breath and she spun around to investigate. "Hello?" She said quietly.

Junior reached the top of the mound and stood infront of Jago. Jago fixed his gaze on the boy before him.
"What do you want?" Jago demanded.
"We need to gather food." Junior stated.
"Your highness." Jago said lowering his eyebrows.
"We need to gather food, your highness." Junior repeated reluctantly.
"And why would that be?"
"Um, So we can eat?" Junior replied his words dripping with sarcasm.
Jago stood and put his arm around Junior's back theatrically. "Kid, let me ask you something. Where is the food?"
"In the houses."
"So why do we need to gather it? Every house his like a cupboard." Jago smiled.
"So we can ration it and make sure it doesn't go off." Junior explained.
Jago's smile left his face. He did not want to be shown up by this kid, "I see no need to gather food."
"But..."
"No need." Jago said firmly. Junior opened his mouth to speak again then clearly thought better of it.
"As you wish, your highness." Junior muttered. He performed a mock curtsey and took his leave.

Savana turned toward her with a smirk and said a small hello to the younger teen. She then stared back some where else and imagined what it would be like to relax and break the tensions. But, she knew this was their normal life and so they had to live it. Her thoughts almost made her completely forget about everything around her, but she got back to the real world.

Personality: Nydia is generally a quiet and polite person, but in these circumstances, she has changed. She doesn't usually want to be in charge, but believes that Jago is incapable of leadership(to put it nicely) and wants to take over and be a just and sensible leader. She is fiercely protective of those younger than her, intelligent, convincing, diplomatic, and fair. Sometimes Nydia can be a bit bossy, but is always just trying to get things done right. She hates laziness and lack of common sense in others.
Looks/Description: Nydia is tall, about 5'9". She is of average weight, but stronger than she looks. Nydia has long brown hair which is almost always tied up in a ponytail and bright green eyes.
Relationships: None yet.
Other: Currently has no weapons, plans to get to power with words, not fighting(not saying her plan will definately work...I have a feeling Jago is not going to give up easily...? )

Personality: Theo is very quiet. He prefers to stay as disconnected from the others as possible. Although unlikely, Theo may make friends, but they will certainly be sensible and not overly showy. He values intelligence, knowing when to quit, common sense, and thinking before speaking.
Looks/Description: Theo has short messy brown hair and dark brown eyes. He is of small height and build, making running, hiding, sneaking, and climbing trees easy for him.

Other: Has a strange liking for animals. They tend to be less afraid of him than other people.

Junior cursed under his breath as he walked away from their self proclaimed king. He had thought Jago might have a little sense!

Jago frowned at Junior as the boy stormed off. He did not like people questioning his opinion but it was clear his subjects were becoming restless. Jago felt he needed to make some orders, to keep the people busy. Weapons, He thought with a smile, Everyone will believe I am taking action. They will know I'm doing something. Nodding to himself, he looked around to order someone to do it.

Zona turned back to the landscape infront of her with a sigh. Her leg bounced impatiently with the longing to go out and explore. But Zona wasn't stupid. She'd seen the sort of beasts that roamed out there and she doubted her little weapon was going to have much effect.

Nydia eyed Jago from behind. She rolled her eyes at his "throne" from which he gazed down upon the others. She had just watched Junior throw a wonderfully sensible idea out to him, yet Jago still ignores him, probably out of pride. As you can probably tell, Nydia was disgusted. Yet, standing there and angering herself wasn't accomplishing anything. She approached Junior when he was out of earshot of Jago. Step 1 of her plan to overthrow Jago: Gain some followers. You can't do anything alone.

Theo raced down the rough and uneven street, the pounding of a monster's feet all that he could hear. He put on an extra burst of speed and leaped up onto the broken windowsill of an abandoned building. The monster roared beneath him, but was unable to follow Theo as he scampered up the building and threw himself through the second-floor window. There he sat, panting, until he finally felt strong enough to stand. Theo glanced around the room and smiled slightly. This place he called home might be closer to the monsters, and a little more dangerous, but he liked it. First off, it was away from the others, who fought over every little thing and couldn't seem to make one logical thought. Second, only he could get in. The stairway had collapsed long ago and the only way to the second floor was the window. The only things that could enter through the window, that he knew of, were himself and small animals.

Savana was bored, she wanted to go somewhere then just standing here. So she turned the corner and said to Zona,"I am going to walk around." she then walked off on the crumbled sidewalk. She past a few blocks and heard rustling from a dumpster in an alley way. She turned toward it to see what it was, surprisingly it was something rather small and similar to a squirrel and a what looked like a bat. She went in closer to get more visual on it, this was an unusual monster she had seen. She got closer and it noticed her, it stood up and stared at her making eye contact. Gosh, why does it look cute?! Geez just calm down and see if its friendly, what human came from this?, she asked herself and told her self, as she went in closer she put up her hands as if to signal it no harm. She slowly stepped forward one step each minute to see if it would make a noise as if to attack her, but it did not, she kept creeping forward as it stared at her.

Junior turned to face Nydia as she approached him.
"Hey," He said nervously, "What's up?"

Zona watched as Savana left with envy, but at least now she was alone. Now she had time to try and remember. But as hard as she tried, Zona couldn't remember a thing. The world hadn't always been like this, she knew this. What she didn't know was how this had happened. Zona couldn't even remember the name of her parents! She groaned in frustration.
Zona decided she'd had enough of waiting around. She turned and walked back into town.

Savana saw it only flinch when she stepped at a wrong time, other then that it did not move. She got closer at least she was about 4 inches away, it made a frightened noise and tilted its head curiously, as she reached out, not quite sure if it was about to bite it or not. She touched its head and began to pet it, somehow it only let her do this as it purred like a cat, it was really soft maybe even useful. Suddenly it hissed at not her but something behind her, she felt breathing behind her and slowly turned around slowly taking out her weapons. She turned around to see one of the quietest monsters that she left her guard on, a giant bird human monster that stared right into her eyes. Her eyes widen and she got her weapons ready, but it flashed its wing and hit her weapons out of her hands. She stepped back away from the small creature and slowly walked backwards not knowing what to do, no weapons meant run, but she was in an alley that had a dead end. The bigger monster ignored the smaller one as it cornered Savana, she cursed under her breath as she fell to her bottom and lay there against a wall of the dead end, there was no escape. She closed her eyes right when it raised its arm that had sharp talons, she was prepared to see if she was going to die. Then suddenly the bigger one screech as another monster was behind her, this one was bigger then the one about to kill her, it seemed familiar. Then the bird one flew away screeching from the pain of the deep gash the other monster formed. She stared at the dumpster where the little one was, but nothing was there, then she stared at the bigger one, it had bat wings, a squirrel tail, some fur, and it was staring at her purring. Then suddenly it became smaller and smaller back to its original size, she gasped. It had transformed into a beast even though its size, she smiled and got up grabbed her weapons and threw them away, she walked over to the small animal and petted its head and she said,"You need a name, how about.... Static?"it purred as if an agreement and she went on"You are such a nice creature, you should come with me."She said as she walked away out of the alley and towards the place where Theodore was, static followed on its feet. The other monsters were not in sight luckily even though they were closer to the hoards of them.

Nydia smiled slightly. "Hi!" she said, then lowered her voice. "It was a good idea." Nydia looked over her shoulder back at Jago and wondered how Junior would respond. Hopefully, he wouldn't be too afraid to oppose the senseless leader. She needed a partner in removing Jago from power, and he at least seemed intelligent.

Theo heard a commotion outside. It jerked him out of his pleasant thoughts as he raced over to the broken window. He saw a girl walking nearby and...a monster with her. In his curiousity, Theo didn't notice a broken shard of glass on the windowsill until it sliced the palm of his hand. He winced and made a quiet exclamation before silencing himself. It didn't look too bad, but it got him thinking. Glass could make a fine weapon, couldn't it? Better than nothing anyway.

Savana walked on near the building where theo was. Static stopped and sniffed the air curiously. Savana stopped also and stared at Static and wondered what he was thinking. The small bat creature flew up into the window and sniffed the air, Savanas eyes watched, glancing around if any monsters were around, which none were, and kept watching Static. Static then saw Theo and cried below to Savana, which she reacted with a tilted head as she climbed a bent lamp that led close to the window. She made sure no glass was in the part she had peered her head in. She found a boy holding a bleeding hand and her eyes widen. She leapt in and stared at him as Static came in and licked the boys hand not knowing what was coming out. Savana asked softly,"How bad is it?" as she stared at his hand.

Nydia watched him for a second. "Well, I'm going to." she said, than added a few seconds later. "Or I'll go down trying." Nydia silently hoped to herself it wouldn't come to that. They were all still people, and couldn't possibly actually injure each other. Right? "You could join me." Nydia said.

Theo was startled by the girl coming in though the window. He hadn't noticed her get so close to the building. What startled him even more was the monster licking his hand. He was quiet for a moment before realising she had asked a question. "Uh, not bad." Theo said shakily. How did she get up here anyway? Wasn't he just thinking about how secluded it was? He shouldn't have let himself be seen, that's it. If she hadn't seen him, she wouldn't of come up.

Savana took away Static and gave him a discouraging look. She set him down some where else and she told him,"Stay!" Then she looked around the room and said,"My name is Savana, his is Static. It's nice to meet you, is there anything you have here to wrap around your hand?"She asked while looking for some cloth that could be useful.

Theo looked around the room. "It's really not that bad, but yeah." he said as he spotted the tattered curtain. Theo tore a strip off and wrapped it around his hand. There was a lot of blood, but it didn't seem to be deep. He tied it off and looked up to face Savana. "Uh, I'm Theo." He said awkwardly.

Savana nodded,"Okay, Well I think I should be going now then." she said. She then picked up Static and threw him out the window, luckily he flapped his wings in time when he was thrown out. She glanced around quickly, at Theo and back out the window."Bye!" she yelled jumping out the window, luckily a pile of crumbled sidewalk was not to far down but also was not next to the window. She some what scraped her leg and bruised her arms and legs, but did not care and ran. She ran back to the group of others, Static following behind. Even though a few monsters eyed her or chased her part way she kept running, she wanted to show the others Static and how he could help.

Personality: Outgoing, gets angry easily, feels lonely when no one's talking to her, sensitive, mostly happy when not in a crises, and likes to help others.
Looks/Description: she has brunet hair, has hazel eyes, and she has white skin. She is 4'11" and she usually weres a t-shirt and a pair of old jeans with a pair of sneakers.
Relationships: She doesn't remember her past at all because of amnesia. She doesn't have a crush yet or any friends. She has a strange relationship with a species of monster, but it rarely appears.
Other: her weapon is a long, rusty, skiny metal pipe that she only uses for fighting monsters when she has to. She turns into a griffin type monster with sharp claws and talons. But she can't control when she turns into a monster and back into a human again. She can control herself in monster mode and, of course, human form.

Theo looked out the window as she left. It must have hurt, jumping out the window. It was a second-story window. He though she was lucky to have not broken her ankle. Theo knit his eyebrows. Why didn't he ask her about the monster? Sometimes his awkwardness got in the way. If he had just asked her...well, another time he'd find out. Now, to work with the glass. Theo grabbed a shard of glass about the length of his hand and turned it over a few times. He paused for a moment, then walked to the caved in stairway. He scanned the rubble for what he was looking for and found it quickly. Theo slipped his uninjured hand into the pile and pulled out a piece of unrotted wood.

Junior grinned at Nydia. He lifted his hands and dropped them in a sign of mock surrender. "Heck, why not? We all stuck in this mess hole, might as well try to clean it up." Junior agreed quietly, "But I want to be alive in the long run. So if your plan starts to go down the toilet, well, I don't like the sewer."

Zona looked over her shoulder curiously as she heard steps behind her. She turned to greet Savana but couldn't help her hand tightening involuntarily on her pipe. After all, people don't run for no reason anymore.

Savana ran up to Zona and smiled catching her breathe she started to speak to her,"Two new pieces of good news!" she felt so excited. Static came up from behind her and peered around her at Zona with curious eyes.

Zona's eyes widened as a monster came up behind Savana. "Savana watch out!" She warned and swung her weapon at it.
